Our fees vary depending on which therapist you are seeing and what kind of service you require. Generally a 50 minute session can vary from $250 - $300.
Payments need to be made at the time each session is held, unless otherwise arranged with your psychologist.
Payments can be made in person by Eftpos. We also accept payment over the phone and by direct deposit.
All of our psychologists are fully registered with the Australian Health Professional Registration Agency (AHPRA) and are registered with Medicare and various private health insurances in order to allow clients access to rebates for services.
You do not require a referral to access services at Capital Assessment and Therapy Centre, however, to receive a rebate through Medicare, you must have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or Paediatrician.
Rebates vary but generally you can receive back up to $93.35 for a registered psychologist and $137.05 for a clinical psychologist per session depending on the presenting issue. The plan will allow you to access a rebate for up to 6 individual therapy sessions initially. If you require more sessions your psychologist will provide a letter to your referring GP or Paediatrician and after a review of the initial plan you can request a further 4. A total of 10 sessions only can be used per calendar year.
The referral must state that you or your child is referred for psychological support under a plan and the plan must be attached. Please ensure your GP or Paediatrician gives you a copy of the referral and plan as you will be required to present it at the initial appointment in order to receive the rebates.
Your private health insurance might provide a rebate for psychological services, however, this depends on your insurer and your level of cover. You will need to contact your private health insurer for more information regarding what services are covered and how much you could claim.
Capital Assessment and Therapy Centre is not an NDIS registered provider. However, if you or your child has a self-managed or third party managed plan you can still access our services and claim the cost against the plan.
We have a 48 hour cancellation policy in place. This ensures that if we have any cancellations we have time to offer that appointment to another client. Any appointment cancelled within a 48 hour timeframe may be charged 50% of the session fee. If you cancel within a 24 hour timeframe you may be charged the full session fee.
You will receive an SMS or email reminding you of your appointment a few days before. If you are unable to attend your appointment please call us as soon as possible on (02) 6162 4226 and we will do our best to reschedule the appointment to another time.
